Old 48 SIM not supported in Google Pixel 8 Pro

CiaranC7664

Just bought a Google Pixel 8 pro and when I put my sim card into it it says "New sim needed, this sim is no longer supported", it's the right size but it's probably about 8+ years since I joined 48 and it's the same sim since then. If I just order a new sim will the new sim that arrives be compatible?

Probably needs a class C 1.8V SIM and the old SIM doesn't support this.

See here for example:

Just order a replacement.

Note that you probably won't get 5G connectivity on your Google Pixel phone because Google don't whitelist the 48/Liffey Telecom network for 5G connectivity for reasons only known to them.

If you need to contact 48 support about any of this then see the links in my signature below.

For anyone looking, the above is the fix. Get a replacement SIM.

I got a "SIM not supported" message with my old 48.ie SIM. Ordered a replacement. The replacement works.

Yes, that's what I said and explained here:
