i have just registered my new 48 sim.  i have the unlock code. when i put my 48 sim in the phone it asks for a pin code instead of a network unlock code.  then when i enter the pin it comes up as "phone frozen SOS calls only"... anyone know what to do?? my phone is a samsung tocco lite....

The new SIM may have SIM PIN locking enabled by default. (Any 48 SIMs that I have used have had this enabled by default). If so then you may need to enter the SIM PIN (PIN1?) from the envelope in which the SIM arrived to get past this. Once you have entered this you can probably disable SIM PIN locking so you don't have to enter the SIM PIN every time you reboot the phone. If you enter the PIN incorrectly too many times then you may beed the PUK[1] code. See here:

Is your phone currently locked to another network? SOS/emergency calls only sounds like it may be locked to another network. Do you have a code for unlocking it? Only unlocked handsets can be used on 48.

If you have a code for unlocking the handset for use on any network then you probably need to enter this separately.

Does that make sense or tally with your situation?

If necessary you can log a support query to get 48 to help you:

Hope this helps.
