Potentially serious 171 issue

Hi All,

This morning I was advised that I had 4 new voice messages. When I clicked on to 171 my phone did not take me to any messages but instead immediately began to make an outgoing call to an 089 mobile number with an additional digit in the number. I am concerned that this may be a  new scam method snd that 171 been compromised, Anyone else experienced this

Doesn't happen for me.

When you say "clicked onto 171" do you mean that you selected it from your contacts or you dialled it manually?

If the former then maybe your contact changed somehow and now dials a number other than 171?

Otherwise I've never heard of such an issue on any network.
