If I am roaming in the UK, Do I need credit on my phone to call another 48 user back home in Ireland??

International calls require cash credit on your account to cover the charges.

Note that calls to Northern Ireland landlines using the 048 instead of 00 44 prefix are treated as Irish national landline calls and thus covered by your normal membership/calls add-on call minutes.

But bear in mind that many people have been having problems with getting EU/UK roaming working lately and some never got it working at all.
