How do I ring a 0818 number? It won’t let me make the call

You need cash credit to pay for calls to such numbers.

50c per minute to 0818 numbers.

I checked my credit balance first, then called an 0818 number SSE airtricity, for 7min 52 sec. Zero credit was used to make this call. 

This thread is six years old and predates more recent policies on how 0818 numbers are handled.

In the past 0818 numbers required cash credit on one's account to pay for them (in addition to an active membership plan).

0818 calls are now covered by membership bundled (or add-on) national landline/mobile call minutes allowances.
