What needs to be done to be able to use 48 work out there? Phone wise. Assume will be no issue connecting to Internet for whatsapp

Data roaming is not supported other than in Europe unfortunately.

The connection should just work for calls and texts but you'll need cash credit on your account to pay for  outgoing and incoming calls and outgoing texts.
