Calls to my number go to answering machine

I have recently joined 48 and when my number is called it gets forwarded to my answer machine and shows been forwarded on the person who is calling mobile how an this be sorted please what could be causing this.?

By "answering machine" do you mean 48 voicemail? 

Can you make calls? 

Can you send/receive texts?

You may need to contact 48 about this.

Also, what happens if you (temporarily) disable voicemail?
