Hi All,
I Am currently with GoMo but want to get 5G network and GoMo wants to move me to €16 a month bill to activate this.
I was looking at alternatives and I can see that 48mobile have the 5G plan for €13 (what I am currently paying for 4G with GoMo).
I have had a look at their Plan and one thing caught my attention - under "SPEEDS OF THE INTERNET ACCESS SERVICE AND REMEDIES" they say that for 5G 'Estimated max download' is only 25Mbps?
I have just ran a test on my GoMo SIM and I got 143Mbps from 4G network...

I wonder what kind of transfer speeds people are getting on a 5G 48mobile plan?
I would also ask how is the Roaming in Europe - does the phone register with a local network easily or are there any issues and APs need to be amended?

I can't comment on the 5G question, because I don't have a 5G phone, other than to note that if you have a 5G Google Pixel phone then you most likely will not get 5G connectivity on 48 because Google don't whitelist 48/Liffey Telecom for 5G connectivity right now:
For what it's worth I did a single SpeedTest on 4G just now (Dublin 7) and got 25Mbps down/18Mbps up but I've seen it lower than that at other times so I think it can vary a lot depending on many factors.
In relation to the roaming question, check out recent posts on the forum about roaming.
Many people have no problem with roaming but unfortunately many others still seem to have problems when trying to use roaming services for some reason and nobody from 48 has ever explained why or provided a guaranteed fix.
As such, the usual generic advice for roaming issues applies...
If your SIM predates January 2023 then maybe get a replacement in case it helps with roaming issues:
It may be worthwhile reviewing these two threads in case any of the suggestions help to avoid roaming problems:
If you still have problems then you'll probably need to contact 48 support for further assistance.

All very good points made by @dalyer above. Just to add I do have the 5G plan and a 5G iPhone and have gotten speeds of 500Mb/s around Waterford City and often am above 100Mb/s so that 25Mb/s seems to be just a guarantee.

Thanks so the price plan is misleasing as it reffers to estimated max... It is a very poor estimate...
