In relation to roaming issues the usual generic advice applies...

Unfortunately many people still seem to have problems with roaming abroad on 48 for some reason.

(On the other hand all the people who have no problems don't post to report their positive experiences!)

If your SIM predates January 2023 then a replacement may mitigate or eliminate roaming problems:

It may be worthwhile reviewing these two threads in case any of the suggestions help to avoid roaming problems:

If you have returned to Ireland from roaming abroad and are having problems using the 48 network/calls/texts/mobile data then see this key post, in particular the section titled "Returned Home?":

If you still have problems then you'll probably need to contact 48 support for further assistance.

Thanks for your help yes l sim is at least 5 years old l have ordered a replacement sim quick question l lave some money in my account is that linked to my sim or my account and l not activate my new Sim for two weeks as I am in the middle of my monthly plan I know that leads to the current sim.

Cash credit on your account is tied to your account and not the specific SIM used.

If you ordered a replacement SIM then when you activate that it will be linked to your existing account/phone number/membership plan etc.

You don't have to wait until the end of your membership plan month to activate a replacement SIM.

You can do it mid plan.

Hope that answers your question but if not then post back.

Sim card hasn’t arrived arrived yet it can take up to 7 more days. I’ll let you know once the SIM card arrives the outcome. Thanks again for your help.

Well I received my new Sim card today and inserted it into the phone my current package which has 11 days left was not affected and the credit I had on my account is still there now as for the primary reason I received a new SIM card having had the last one for at least five years and been unable to use roaming or even get a network signal while in Europe That I will update you on when I go on my holiday in two weeks

Thanks for the update.

I hope it works for you this time.

Good luck!

On my previous posts I’ve been with 48 five or six years and at that time into at least 20 European countries and roaming has never worked. I was advised to get a new SIM from Part for free and just told this will probably sort out the problem, I can confirm that is true. I am now sending you a message while roaming in Crete thanks again again for all your help now I must go at the Bar is calling me back 🤣

> I was advised to get a new SIM from Part for free

What does this mean?
