Going to Switzerland. Can I make calls, text and use my internet in Switzerland to contact friends in ireland?

You need an active membership and cash credit to pay for outgoing and incoming calls and outgoing texts while roaming in Switzerland.

Calls and texts will not be covered by memebrship/add-on allowances while roaming there.

Internet and MMS will not work while roaming in Switzerland.

You seem to be using an iPhone in which case you may need to be aware of this issue due to the stupid way that Apple do things:

have question about your advice to change international roaming to manual. Last year i was in spain and didnt change anything on phone setting and had no problem connecting to different wifi as i couldn't use my internet. does it depends which country you're in? thanks for your answer. dee

I don't know to be honest.

In some cases it looks like no manual intervention is needed and things just work.

In other cases people have problems with roaming until they manually tweak this thing.

If it worked straight off for you in Spain then hopefully it'll be the same in Switzerland but who knows until you get there and try it.

It's yet another stupid thing that Apple do to cause problems for end users unfortunately and one of the many reasons that I avoid iPhones like the plague...
