4G Connection and not 5G - Ported number ino 48.ie

Hi

Just ported my number into 48.ie
BUT, phone only connecting at 4G and not 5G as on previous Network.
Have checked APN settings and restated phone but still 4G only!

Thanks for any help to resolve this.

Hi

I found another post that may explain this.
- it seems that only 4G is granted on initial setup until a plan is purchased.
- However you cannot but a plan until porting is 'completely' finished!
- Hopefully plan purchase [when available] will fix this.

That's correct. 

The free 1GB of mobile data for trying things out before you buy a membership plan only offers 4G and not 5G unfortunately.

When you buy a €12.99 plan then 5G should work assuming that your APN settings are configured correctly and you have a 5G phone. 

If your number port seems to be taking too long then you should contact 48 support.
