My network is coming up as Tesco mobile and its supposed to be 48?everything is fine on the phone I was just enquiring is it necessary to change it?

No.

If everything is working then don't worry about it.

Some phones mis-identify networks - especially "virtual" networks such as Tesco, 48, iD etc. whcih are virtual networks operating on the physical Three/3 network.
