iMessage and Facetime (iOS 26 / eSIM)

If you find yourself suddenly without iMessage and Facetime after the iOS 26 upgrade and you've tried everything it's worth trying Apple.  I thought I was going to have to leave 48 but I requested apple support and 12hrs later got a message that they have enabled iMessage and now it works again.

I don't understand the reference to eSIM.

48 don't do eSIMs.

The other thing to try in such circumstances is to put €1 cash credit on your account in case the usual silly Apple activation process (for the phone itself, iMessage, FaceTime etc.) needs to happen again - the one that involves the phone silently sending one or more SMS messages to a UK activation server and which will silently fail if there isn't cash credit to pay for the international texts.

I am not a 48 employee - if you need to contact 48 support you can do so by chat or email (support@48months.zendesk.com).
