I can see that I have a credit balance of €22.06 on my account. Can I use this credit to pay for my plan instead of having the charge taken from my card?

The real sweetener is that you can purchase your plan from your available credit balance, so long as the balance covers your full plan cost. 

Be aware that only manual purchase of a membership plan can use cash credit on your account. Auto-renewal never uses cash credit to pay for a plan.
