With regular calls I think the problem is that 48 doesn't support VoLTE or VoNR/Vo5G so when you're on a call the mobile data connection falls back to 3G or even 2G which is extremely slow or possibly not even available in some areas and most modern apps need a better mobile data connection than that to be functional.

I don't think that this will change until/unless 48 eventually do support these options.

I don't know about FaceTime though. I thought that it used a data connection rather than the way a regular call works? Maybe it simply uses up most of the connection bandwidth such that other apps can't really connect? This suggests that you should be able to use other connected apps while on a FaceTime call and it shares the data connection with these apps.

If that's not your experience with FaceTime then you might need to ask about it on an Apple/iPhone support forum?

If you need to contact 48 support about this then see the links in my signature below.

I am not a 48 employee - if you need to contact 48 support you can do so by chat or email (support@48months.zendesk.com).
