How to turn off the Internet?

VolodymyrS2046

I need to turn off the internet when my child doesn't go to school. Could you tell me how to implement this? I know about setting up parental controls on a smartphone, but it's not suitable. The child is no longer so small and cannot unlock the phone.

You'll need to look at the user manual for the phone.

This doesn't really have anything to do with 48 per se.

You can disable WiFi and mobile data but if the child knows how to switch these back on then that's no use.

You could maybe get them a dumb/feature phone with no WiFi or mobile data connectivity?

If you need to contact 48 support about this then see the links in my signature below.

But it's probably not something that they can really help you with as far as I can see.

Thanks for the tip about the push-button phone, but I doubt there are any kids left who would agree to that. He doesn't have Wi-Fi at home; he uses mobile internet. It would be nice to have a button in your personal account to turn off data.

Hey there,

I have saw a few people ask this question before on other forums and one answer that always popped up from time-to-time was:

  • OurPact: Known for its ability to instantly block the internet or specific apps across both Android and iOS.

I must say though, I am unsure of how good it actually is because I have never used it.

Why don't parental controls on the phone do what you want?

Because my child is 16 years old and he simply won't give me his phone. Also, this child has been programming for quite a while and could use special software to reset the phone to factory settings. Linking the phone to an account won't help. He can also remove the SIM card and insert it into another phone, which he might borrow from a friend.

I don't think that there's any technological solution to this issue so to be honest.
