Calling abroad
International calls are when you’re calling an international number (non-Irish number) from your phone when you’re in Ireland. These calls and texts are not included in any of our plans.
There is no add-on for international calls. To make international calls, simply buy some credit on top of your existing plan; you can use it for your calls and texts to your friends elsewhere on the world.

Calls to Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland Mobile numbers: these numbers are classed as an international call, as the UK prefix +44/0044 is used, so you’ll need additional credit to make the call.
Northern Ireland landlines: you can use the normal UK +44 prefix, or you can use the 048-prefix described here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_the_Republic_of_Ireland#Calls_to_Northern_Ireland
- A call to NI using +44 is charged as an international call at 23.37c per minute.
- Calls to NI using 048 are covered by your plan or add-on bundled landline calls allowance.
So, if you're calling an NI landline, it makes sense to use 048 rather than +44.
