Does 48 SIM work in Nokia 2G phones?

Hi,
I'm buying my Dad a phone that has a long battery life and very basic functionality, like the Nokia 105. Will 48s sim card work in this 2G phone?

As far as I know it should work fine assuming it's unlocked for use on any network.
But maybe double check with 48 support that a 2G only phone will work ok on the 48 network just to be sure.
This thread suggests that it should.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dalyer,

I can't access the link on this old post. Just wondering if you know if a 48-sim card will work on the 2G Nokia 105 phone?

Thank you,

I can't find the original thread either.

As far as I know a 2G phone should work on 48.

See here for example:

"An older device will continue to support data services on the 2G network but with slower data speeds."

But coverage may not be as good as 3G/4G.
