&lt;P&gt;Are you referring to the number porting security text messages perhaps?&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;That gets sent to your number when it's still with the old provider so you need the old provider's SIM in your phone and working in order to receive it.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What happens when you log into your My48 account and try to buy a membership plan?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Is your number listed on the account or is it the new/default 089 number that came with the SIM?&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I suspect that your SIM is actually activated but you need to port your number over from your old provider to 48 first.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>SIM activation, number not ported, can't buy membership</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I was never sent text telling me that my SIM is activated. I can't buy plan because card payment needs onetime security passcode to be sent via text. But SIM isn't activated....?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
