Why was I charged €25.98 for my first membership plan?

I just the 48sim card, I want to start the €12.99 monthly plan, but I just saw that I have to pay for vat resulting me to pay €25.98. Please I would like to understand why I have to pay for vat. I was told that I only have to pay €12.99 for monthly plan.

This is nothing to do with VAT - it's the once-off activation fee of €12.99 charged when you buy your first €12.99 membership.

A one-time activation fee of €12.99 applies with the first plan purchase.

VAT is already included in the two €12.99 charges.

Every individual consumer has to pay the relevant rate of VAT on retail purchases.

The price quoted by retailers already includes this tax.

Its a one time fee they have to to. I was suorised too but its only ince off
