Getting signal abroad

I'm currently abroad in Croatia and I have no phone signal. I have checked my settings, topped up my credit and turned my phone on and off but still nothing. I need contact with home. What is the problem?

You seem to be using an iPhone?

If so then it's almost certainly this issue due to the stupid way that Apple do things:

iPhone abroad issue

This problem hits many iPhone users who try to roam abroad.

You may need to try that setting several times before it works.

It may help to toggle airplane mode on and then off again and then quicly try to "catch" the local network so that you can make the configuration change.
