In relation to roaming issues the usual generic advice applies...

Unfortunately many people still seem to have problems with roaming abroad on 48 for some reason.

(On the other hand all the people who have no problems don't post to report their positive experiences!)

If your SIM predates January 2023 then a replacement may mitigate or eliminate roaming problems:

https://48.ie/help/sim-replacement

It may be worthwhile reviewing these two threads in case any of the suggestions help to avoid roaming problems:

https://community.48.ie/t5/The-Knowledge-Base/The-Roaming-Troubleshooting-Guide/ta-p/52179

https://community.48.ie/t5/Internet/How-to-fix-no-network-service-when-roaming/m-p/56352

If you have returned to Ireland from roaming abroad and are having problems using the 48 network/calls/texts/mobile data then see this key post, in particular the section titled "Returned Home?":

https://community.48.ie/t5/The-Knowledge-Base/The-Roaming-Troubleshooting-Guide/ta-p/52179

If you still have problems then you'll probably need to contact 48 support for further assistance.

See the links in my signature below for the different ways to contact 48 support.

Also be aware of services that require cash credit while roaming in the US.

https://48.ie/charges/roaming

And note that you won't be able to make/receive voice calls.

Maybe something like this might be a better bet?

https://community.48.ie/t5/The-Newsroom/Meet-HelloGlobe-Your-new-travel-eSIM/td-p/71102

Edit: oh, didn't realise that Hello Globe eSIMs are data only...
