Once your phone is unlocked 48 is compatible with it.

If you need to unlock your phone check out 48's unlock guide and most phone shops will do it cheap enough for you.

Your phone will be locked if it was bought from a phone providers shop.

If you bought it on prepay check with your network for an unlock code, sometimes when you spend a certain amount of cash on credit they'll issue you an unlock code on request.
