hi i just registered my sim to keep my old number and I have topped up the sim to realise i have a new number ?? what do i do??

You just need to port your number - see here:

How do I keep my old number?

Bear in mind that porting hours are as follows:

"Number transfer hours are 8am to 6pm Mon to Fri, 10am to 4pm Sat and Sun."

All going well you should only be offline briefly but to allow for the possibility of delay you should submit the porting request when you will not depend on the phone too much.
