i picked transfer old number and 48 gave me a new number..i got an email about my account and i click the link on the email and it brought me to a page saying heres your new number? do i use this number till they transfer my old number? does anyone know?

You get a new 089 number with a new 48 SIM. This is the number displayed in your online account by default. If you want to transfer in another number from another operator then you follow this process.
