I upgraded my software to ios8 and my hotspot dissappeared . How do I retrieve it . I am heading away this evening and need it ASAP . My phone is an iphone4s

Presumably the software update wiped your APN/internet and/or hotspot settings so you need to configure them again or restore your iTunes/iCloud backup containing your settings etc.?

This has nothing to do with the 48 network per se.

If necessary follow the instructions here to configure your internet/APN settings again:

If you're heading away ABROAD then there's no rush as 48 don't support data services while roaming abroad and you just have to use wifi where available.
