Phone keeps saying no sim even though there is, how do I fix this?

My sim is inserted in to my Nexus 5X but the phone wont recognise it and keeps saying no sim inserted so I have no coverage. It used to recognise it until it randomly started asking me to insert my pin every time I was on my phone saying the sim was locked, this wouls happen even if I was in the middle of using the phone, then all of a sudden it just stopped recognising the sim at all. I've tried taking the sim out and putting it back in but it did'nt work.

Perhaps the sim is faulty and you need to try a new one?
Might be worth contacting 48 support to ask them about it?
