ill be going to england for a weekend next month , will my membership or internet work over there on a basic membership plan ? if not what do i have to do ?

You will need membership for anything to work.

With just membership and nothing else you can receive texts.

But to make/receive calls or send texts you will need either cash credit to cover the costs or you will need an EU roaming calls and/or texts add-on.

48 don't support data while abroad so you will have to use wifi where available.
