I'm moving to Spain next week and My 48 top up has run out. if I get the guide deal will it work abroad?

For your phone with your 48 SIM to work in Spain you need:

An active membership
Cash credit to cover the cost of outgoing calls and texts and incoming calls OR
EU roaming add-ons (http://www.48months.ie/membership-plans/going-abroad). Add-ons only work if you also have an active membership.
Since you seem to have an iPhone you need to be aware of this issue: iPhone abroad issue

Note that data will not work abroad so you are restricted to wifi where available.

If you're moving to Spain for good or long term then it might make more sense and be more cost effective to get a local SIM. Dual SIM phones are useful to have your 48 one going (at least for a transition period) as well as a local one.
