I'm going away to Austria and portugal for three weeks in 10 days,my membership is up today and I'm just wondering what I should do about topping up?On my old network I would top up by €20 and that would do me for texts and calls with no plan,can I do something like this with 48?

You need a membership anyway - even though membership allowances don't cover services while abroad.

Nothing will work if you don't have a membership.

Then you need either cash credit on your account to cover the costs of ougoing and incoming calls and outgoing texts - or (when roaming in the EU) you can buy EU roaming calls/texts add-ons.

Wherever you roam data/internet access will not be available as 48 don't support data roaming while abroad. So you'll have to use wifi where available.

Just bought membership and add ons and I'm flying tomorrow,I'll know them thanks for all the help!

You seem to have an iPhone?

If so then you need to be aware of the iPhone roaming issue and what you need to do ideally before you travel.
