Whats the real differences between 4g and 5g in area with good signal strength? Is it worth to upgrade?

I'm on this old 8.99 price plan.

I'm on 8.99 per month 4G plan. I wonder if I can switch to 5G plan for a month to try it out and then go back to 4G if I wont see much differences in speed and quality of signal. (switch back to 4G with my old 8.99 price tag)

Whether or not it's worth upgrading depends on your usage and needs.

Myself and my young adult son find 4G fine.

By the way, there's no €8.99 plan - did you mean the legacy €7.99 plan?

Thanks. I know whats the theoretical differences between 4g and 5g but whats the real one between 48's 4g and 48's 5g in the same area. is the speed of internet connection much better?

Did you mean the €7.99 plan?

If you're on a legacy plan cheaper than €12.99 and switch to the €12.99 plan then you can't switch back.

However, if you switch to another 48 plan (except for the 100GB €10.99) you will not be permitted to switch back to the 100GB €7.99 plan.

Hey, I came looking for this. I'm one of the lucky ones to be on the 7.99 plan and did get that message saying we are being upgraded for free. But haven't seen it come into effect yet.
Has your one changed? Did you have to do anything to get it working?

Sorry, had overlooked the date so obviously I'm getting to excited for this. I'll wait out and the message does say we shouldn't have to do anything 😅

"CONTRACT CHANGE from 48: By 31st October, your plan will include access to the 5G network where available, at no additional cost. You may get access sooner as we start the rollout from next week. Your price and allowances are not changing. You don't need to do anything, we'll automatically activate 5G on your account."
