    <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.48.ie/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/344364"&gt;@AaronS6679&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;- I had done a search and saw something about the proxy/port fields causing that sort of problem alright. And now that you mention it I seem to recall queries posted here over the years of the form "mobile data doesn't work except for WhatsApp (and FaceBook?)" so that might explain it. I guess that the first step when having mobile data problems is to ensure that the APN settings are configured correctly which, on 48, means texting "APN" to 50048 and following the instructions...       <description>&lt;P&gt;You probably need to configure your APN settings.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Text "APN" to 50048 and follow the instructions here to do this:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

I have a friend on Tesco Mobile that had this same exact problem on a Samsung phone, just WhatsApp working and have seen threads on Reddit and other places with people having the exact same issue.       <description>Yeah exactly the normal advice of “Have you entered or text “50048” for the APN settings” still should fix it no problem. Yeah I’ve seen people saying Facebook Messenger also works for some reason.</description>

&lt;P&gt;I'm not sure why 48 can't push APN settings to phones automatically like other mobile providers can as far as I know.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
