I'm super nervous about the sim swap scam where a nefarious party somehow orders a replacement sim card, and is able to take over your phone number. My job is requiring more and more 2 part authentication, and I'm getting more and more nervous! Is there any advice specific to 48 for preventing this happening? TIA!

> is there any advice specific to 48 for preventing this happening?

No. Just the usual advice available elsewhere. E.g.:

https://www.ptsb.ie/help-and-support/help-with-banking/fraud-and-financial-crime/frauds--scams/sim-swap

https://blog.eset.ie/2020/11/26/sim-swap-scam-what-it-is-and-how-to-protect-yourself/

https://aib.ie/security-centre/common-frauds-and-threats

https://www.qub.ac.uk/directorates/InformationServices/Services/Security/cs-knowledge-base/sim-fraud/

At the very least use strong passwords for all of your accounts, including your My48 account, and keep them secure - using a password manager if necessary. Don't reuse passwords for different accounts.
