What happened to the 48 Android App login?

Hey y'all, why has the app login changed? See here:

It used to just open the app with my details - now I have to log in via a web browser which is much more frictioned

Hasn't been working properly in a while now for some reason.
It always redirects to the website.

Oh... I just downloaded the updated Android app today and it's working again.
