You need to buy a membership.

Having cash credit on your account is not enough.

48 doesn't work like other pay as you go networks.

See here

Membership comes with certain mobile calls, landline calls, text and data allowances.

You don't need cash credit as well unless you use services not covered by membership allowances eg. MMS picture messages, calls and texts to international numbers, calls to "special" numbers such as 1850/1890 etc.

You may need to contact 48 support:

http://www.48months.ie/help/ask-agent

Where are you located?

Do you know anybody else on 48 - or maybe Tesco Mobile, Lycamobile or Three to see what their reception is like?

48/Tesco/Lyca are virtual carriers operating on the Three network (albeit with possible differences in the specific infrastructure used) so might be comparable.

When you say reception is poor how are you measuring this?

Signal bars?

Some other way?

Do calls drop or are they noisy?

Hope this helps.

That's a shame.

I know of two other areas in Dublin (parts of D11 and D15) that are really bad for mobile signals on any network.

Seems odd in this day and age...

You're replying to a 8 year old thread...

What does your Transactions page say about these payments?

https://48.ie/my48/transactions

What does your My48 account Dashboard say about your current membership status and expiry date?

https://48.ie/my48

Does your Buy Plan page list any upcoming memberships?

https://48.ie/my48/memberships

Bear in mind that your first membership purchase is also subject to a once-off activation fee of €12.99.

https://48.ie/legal/price-plan-details

All Data* €12.99 Plan

This All Data* plan is only available to new 48 customers who order their 48 SIM and purchase an All Data* plan from the 5th April 2022. A one-time activation fee of €12.99 applies with the first plan purchase.

I wonder if what happened is that there was a payment problem but both transactions went through and you have now paid for three membership plans, on of which is active and two of which have stacked on your account to kick in later, and also the once off activation fee?

If you need to contact 48 support about this then see the link in my signature below or email them at support@48months.zendesk.com
